We are seeking a skilled Database Developer to design, develop, optimize, and maintain secure database systems that support clinical, operational, and business functions across the organization.

Position Summary

The Database Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining database solutions, optimizing database performance, ensuring data integrity, and supporting reporting and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience designing relational databases, writing complex queries, troubleshooting performance issues, and collaborating with software development and business teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain database structures and solutions.
  • Create and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and triggers.
  • Develop and maintain data integration processes and ETL workflows.
  • Monitor database performance and implement improvements to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures are maintained.
  • Collaborate with software developers to support application development and integrations.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and resolve data-related problems.
  • Develop and maintain database documentation, standards, and procedures.
  • Perform data validation and ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.
  • Participate in database upgrades, migrations, and system enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security and privacy requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of database development experience.
  • Strong experience with SQL and relational database management systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or similar database platforms.
  • Experience creating stored procedures, triggers, views, and database functions.
  • Understanding of database normalization, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of data backup, recovery, and security best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud database technologies such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL.
  • Experience with ETL tools and data integration processes.
  • Experience supporting healthcare, behavioral health, or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and data privacy regulations.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, or other reporting platforms.
  • Database certifications are a plus.

Compensation

Salary Range: $90,000 – $130,000 annually**, depending on experience, technical expertise, and qualifications.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.

Work Environment

This position may be performed remotely, in a hybrid environment, or on-site depending on business needs. Candidates must be able to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
