Software Engineer
Marion Counseling Services (MCS) is dedicated to improving access to quality behavioral health services through innovation, technology, and compassionate care. We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software solutions that support our clinical, operational, and business objectives.
Position Summary
The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software applications and systems. The ideal candidate has strong programming skills, experience with modern software development practices, and a passion for building secure, scalable, and reliable technology solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, and backend services.
- Create and execute unit, integration, and system tests.
- Document technical designs, processes, and application functionality.
- Support software deployments and production environments.
- Ensure applications meet security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Stay informed of emerging technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate.
- Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Go.
- Experience with web application development and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
- Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and security best practices.

Compensation
Salary Range: $90,000 – $135,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
